I was invited to an all meat dish dinner at The Flying Pig in Eastwood. I first saw the place in Eastwood but I didn't get the chance to eat there. When I got the invite, I was so excited to attend, but it didn’t show because I was late. Haha!
The Flying Pig is a very unique place that caters to all meat (pork specifically) lovers. We were all carnivores at that moment. The place looks so inviting. The interior is full of pig painting in different kinds of colors. Even the menu is very colorful!
What’s left on the Table:
Apple Cream Soup (p175)
The creamy soup is a combination of blended apple and bacon bits
Bacon Bleu Cheese Salad (p355)
The Pork Treasure Pot (p365)
My personal favorite, the flavored rice with the Chinese style dry pot and pork ribs is a perfect combination. It’s somehow like Patatim Rice Toppings. Haha!
The Flying Pig’s Cuchi Prito (p365)
The Flying Pig’s take on the Filipino favorite, Crispy Pata. Heavy on the serving as it comes in solo, quarter (2pax) and Half (3pax).
Kung Fu Spice Spare Ribs (p385)
A must order! Dinner wouldn’t be compete without Spare Ribs ofcourse. The dish is showered with lots of pepper and secret shanghai spices. It is not that spicy that’s why I was able to eat it. For the lovers of spice, you can actually tell them that you wanted it extra spicy!
Slow Cooked Kurobota Pork Belly (p395)
The meat is so tender and the mashed potato is a perfect partner.
You really won’t need rice.
Three Little Pig Cabbage Rolls (p265)
The sausage is wrapped in bacon and is laid in rice, topped with cheese! Very heavy but delicious dish.
Chilled Red Ice Tea
Desserts! After the heavy dishes set on the table for us to feast, the dessert that came in balanced our meal that night.
Grandma’s Chocolate Cake (p155/slice)
Caramel Panacota
Dulce de Leche Cheesecake (p165/slice)
Perfect after a hearty meal. My favorite dessert that night.
There you go, make sure you reserve lunch or dinner at The Flying Pig after the Lenten Season and treat yourself to guilt free heavy meal!
