Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta
Tired of the usual Filipino dishes? Well, brace yourself for a new bistro style restaurant that offers your favorite Filipino dishes with a modern bistro twist.
I was invited to feast and not just dine in Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta last June 20, 2010. It was a night full of mouthwatering Filipino dishes that brings out the Filipino in you. I wasn't able to bring a camera thus presenting you with some not so clear pictures of what was served on our table.
Take a look at what was served.

Mann Hann with Mom and Dad
We celebrated Mom and Dad's birthday over lunch last July 4 at Mann Hann, SM North Edsa. We are Chinese Cuisine lovers and having heard of the newly renovated Mann Hann at SM North Edsa, we trooped there to satisfy our taste buds.
On the table:
Mann Hann's new look
I love the new interior, too bad I wasn't able to take photos. It was neat and hindi masikip inside. With Mann Hann, you're always going to wait outside. Lucky for us, since it was late lunch, there wasn't much people kaya we never waited for us to be seated. We even got to choose our seats, comfy sofo :) Though the interior is new, the menu is still old, worn out and looks like hasn't been updated. Check out what we [always] order.

I'm craving for Strawberry Taho!
I was browsing thru some old pics and I came across a yummy epic pic.
Yes! I have always loved STRAWBERRIES, all sorts and kinds! And at the same time, I grew up eating/drinking TAHO every morning because our dad loves to buy us that. And so when I saw this in Baguio, a few years back.. I grabbed my wallet and ordered one.
Oooo it was great! The soft/siken tofu and the sweet strawberry syrup is a very good combination. The strawberry is a plus! Haay, take me to Baguio again please!

Hungry for Hungarian
Traditional Hungarian dishes are primarily based on meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, fresh bread, cheeses and honey. Recipes are based on centuries of old traditions around spicing and preparation methods. Hungarian or Magyar cuisine is the cuisine characteristic of the nation of Hungary and its primary ethnic group, the Magyars.
Upon entering I asked for the menu as I am eager to find out what's in store for us, and lo and behold.. I was given a scrapbook. The scrapbook serves as their unique menu for guest which has the picture and description of the food. I find it very personal as guest, I have been to other restaurants but I never found a menu like this, one of it's kind :)
Then came the appetizer, Langos, deep fried potato bread topped with sour cream, garlic and cheese. This is a popular merienda in Hungary as well as bordering countries. The name comes from the Hungarian word "lang" which means flame. (this is a very delicious merienda!)
Lamb Paprika
Now we are off to the main dishes. We tried 3 of their main dishes namely, Lamb Paprika, Chicken Paprika and Stuffed Chicken. The paprika dishes are served with paprika sauce drizzled with sour cream, served with spaetzle and lecso. The Stuffed Chicken has chestnut stuffing served with sauerkraut nd roasted potatoes. (yummy!)
And last but not the least, here comes dessert! It's my favorite crepe! But in Magyar, its called Palacsinta, its the Hungarian word for crepe/pancake. This Hungarian favorite contains chocolate, oranges, raisins and walnuts. A sweet flavor to end the evening.
We were all full to the brim. Writing late food blog post makes me crave for what i'm writing. Haha! Make's me more hungry for Hungarian!

The scrapbook serves as their unique menu for guest which has the picture and description of the food. I find it very personal as guest, I have been to other restaurants but I never found a menu like this, one of it's kind :)
We started off with breads. They gave out us 4kinds of breads namely Old Country Style Loaf, Chili Cheese Loaf, Cumin Roll and Soft Roll served with butter.

Goulash is known as the Hungarian specialty all over the world. Magyar serves a variety of this soup: beef, lamb, szekely (pork & sauerkraut), seafood and mushroom. The last two are not authentic Hungarian versions however these are available for those who prefer fish and vegetables dishes over meat. The ones that we tried were beef and szekely.
